Change me, Lord

spring-road

It’s a new year, it’s a new season,

I pray that my heart, will be more like Christ

Change my heart Lord, when I get so blind,

Keep me accountable, when I get stuck in the ugliness of this world.

It’s simple to pray and ask that the Lord to change someone else’s heart,

But only to find out, that it was me who needed the changing.

Anger and bitterness often times cloud my view when I pray,

God says, “hold on child, it’s you who needed the disciplining.”

So here I ask again, change my heart Lord, change the way I pray,

And begin every prayer with, “Change me, Lord.”

I want to start off the year 2014 with only your blessings. In Jesus’ name, amen.

~Happy New Year to all the bloggers out there! May this year brings you lots of new perspectives, God blessings and a willingness attitude for God’s purpose. 🙂

Blessings,

Sue

Dear Friday

images

Dear Friday,

Today is Friday. Another day of an 8-5 pm shift. Lunch at noon and back to my desk at 1pm. What does all this mean? What’s my goal? What do I want to accomplish? What do I want to do? Lord, what is Your dream for my life? Please awake what’s been tucked in my heart. Emerge those hopes and dreams that You want to fulfill in me. I feel that today is another ordinary day of living and working. I feel like I’ve drifted off course, away from what God intention for me. I also feel that my heart has grown cold to the things of God lately. Because I know that I’m drifting away from the Lord, I am having a hard time paddling my boat. I’m actually paddling against the current really. It’s hard, nearly impossible to win this water battle. And so, I give up. I sound like a broken record again. But yes, I give up. It’s tiring to travel this river alone. I’m getting back on course again. I’m guarding my heart and mind against attitudes and ideologies that would carry me away from God’s truth. Instead, I’m choosing to paddle my lifeboat towards the Lord by meditating on Scriptures, praying and  living obediently. Practicing discipline will help keep my heart warm towards God.

Love,

Sue

~I hope you’re inspired today. It’s not too late to get back on course. Thank you Lord for giving me hope. My hope in you never fails. (2 Peter 3:17 and Luke 15:11-32)

“This will be the sign for you, O Hezekiah:

“This year you will eat what grows by itself, and the second year what springs from that.

But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above.

For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” ~2 Kings 19:29-31

Oh what happiness it is to know that my Father in Heaven provides! He delivers folk. He destroyed King Hezekiah’s enemies.  He is so faithful and loving and majestic. I can’t stop delighting knowing that my God in Heaven is so powerful and loving. I pray that everyone will be as stoked and jubilant as me as you read 1 and 2 King like me. I truly love the Old Testament. My eyes are opened to a newer level of understanding and I am that much closer to knowing the heart of my Father.

Love,

Sue

Focus, Focus, Focus

Our focus determines our directions

Do you believe that?

Where your mind wanders, that’s where your heart is tied to

Do you get this?

Your eyes perceives everything, keep it clean

Can you believe that?

Fixing your eyes on your problems, or just looking at the wall and doing nothing about it. Well, that’s not going to work.

Have you found a solution yet?

Dwelling on the past, and all you feel is unjust and anger strikes at your heart

Do you know what I mean?

It’s the same misconception, same-o, same-o

Are you tired, do you want to change?

Want to stick to your New Year Resolution? What “walls” in your life have you been looking at? What can you do to remind yourself to keep your eyes on Christ? What word would help you maintain focus?

Psalm 105:4, “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.”

Romans 8:5, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.”

Focus, focus, focus. 🙂

Generous Giver?

Xmas-Lights

2 Corinthians 9:6-7, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Do you hear Him speak into the depths of your soul today?… “I own it all. I’m not asking you to give Me ‘your’ money. I’m asking you to return what’s Mine and watch Me move.”

…”It has to be given away to be multiplied.” God challenged me – “What can you give away in the midst of your need?”

It was as if a dam broke in my soul. Not because of the money God provided. That was a blessing for sure. But it wasn’t about the money. It was about seeing God move. And my trust deepening. And my heart softening. And my hands opening.

Remember, God loves a cheerful giver. In addition, when we give to the needy, we are lending to the Lord (Proverbs 19:17, “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him [the person giving] for what he has done.”).

Are you ready to give like never before this Holiday season? I pray that God will move in your soul with the spirit of generosity. Merry Christmas to all my WordPress peers. 🙂

At Night

Psalm 42:8 “By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.”

“Give me all your troubles before you go to bed. I’m going to be up anyway.” — God.

Do you ever struggle in the quiet of the night? At night, King David put away all the words and hard thinking and just praised God.

When trouble comes knocking on my door,

I’m going to shut my mind and pray

When worries approaches my path,

I’m going to praise God with my songs

When I’m tempted to sin,

I’m going to read my favorite Bible verse out loud

When I’m ready to give up,

I’m going to close my eyes and give it to my God

Let’s just sleep well tonight and sing a song of praise to the Lord. Pick a favorite song of your choice and sing it out loud as you lay down to sleep tonight. If problem still comes knocking on your door, softly play your favorite worship music in the background so that it can sing you to sleep.

I’m a Ninja Sheep

“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” ~ Matthew 10:16

I’m a ninja sheep and I can’t deny it

I live among wolves, my Jesus warned me so

As shrewd as a snake, He advised me to be

But as sweet as a dove, so that I can do His will

All geared up and ready, for a tough fight

God gave me Karate-Bible skills, so that I can defeat the enemy

I am not a dumb sheep, but a very smart and witty one

Don’t mess with this Ninja Sheep

You mess with me, you mess with my homies (Jesus, God the Father and Holy Spirit)!
