How are you?

How are you today?

How are you feeling today? It’s been a rough few weeks hasn’t it? I only pray that your burden is getting lighter my dear friend. Since last weeks shooting incident in Connecticut,  you’re probably wondering is there any hope left in humanity? Were we made to live on this earth just to hurt one other? What is going on in the world you ask. Is our purpose in life destined to be so miserable? Is hate all that is left? I hope not friends. In fact, I know not. You see, Christ paved a way for all of us to be out of this horrible mess. We weren’t made to be stuck in sadness or sin. We were made to bond with God the Father, to honor Him and please Him. And you know what, Christ made that possible for us. Through His sacrificial death, we are free from sadness and depression and evilness. Our hope is in Him. Only he can bend our broken hearts, only He can wipe away your tear saturated face, only He can comfort you and put you to a peaceful sleep tonight with a knowledge knowing that things will be okay the next day.

If your hurting, please seek refuge in Him. His Words are life. His awesome strength is strong enough to carry you through all of your burdens. Please, don’t isolate yourself. Get yourself healed and be prayed for. And once your feeling better, go out there and pray for someone else. Bless them with your powerful prayers and support.

Have a happy Christmas everyone!!

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”        -Luke 2:11

What is bondage? Ask yourself these questions: 1) What specific area of captivity do you face and 2) What specific ways and lengths of time God employed to set you free?

Most of us unknowingly limit our perceptions of captivity to those bonds we’ve personally witnessed or experienced.

Painful testimonies of Christians who struggle with lust, patterns of falling into sexual sin, struggles with homosexuality, a fear of men because of childhood abuse, inability to love people fully (including your own spouse and children), the compulsion to steal, habitual dishonesty, the bitterness that flows from physical abuse as a child, your deep insecurity that stole your friendship away, anger towards God, doubt, discouragement,  loneliness, a chronic lack of satisfactions etc.

Keep in mind, these are testimonies of those who hand found freedom in Christ. Imagine how many are still struggling!

Some TRUTHS to remind you:

  • Christ came to set the captives free–no matter what kind of yoke binds them
  • He came to bind up the brokenhearted–no matter what broke the heart
  • He came to open the eyes of the blind–no matter what veiled their vision

Never Forget

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

Isaiah 61:1-4

61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.

God hears the cry of the oppressed. He even hears the cries of those whose oppression is a result of sin and rebellion. We must never cease believing that God cares about those in physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual prisons. God always cares more for our freedom than even we do. “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry be reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows” (Exodus 3:7) God is intimately acquainted with the sorrows and suffering that result from slavery. He also has a remedy. He is the meeter of our needs… ~Beth Moore

Where is your heart right now? Are you feeling oppressed, depressed, saddened or are you a prisoner of your own fear? The word of God brings life, understanding and hope. May you never forget that truth. Choose to walk in the freedom of Jesus Christ today my beloved. It’s satisfying and forever sweetness. 🙂

Generous Giver?

2 Corinthians 9:6-7, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Do you hear Him speak into the depths of your soul today?… “I own it all. I’m not asking you to give Me ‘your’ money. I’m asking you to return what’s Mine and watch Me move.”

…”It has to be given away to be multiplied.” God challenged me – “What can you give away in the midst of your need?”

It was as if a dam broke in my soul. Not because of the money God provided. That was a blessing for sure. But it wasn’t about the money. It was about seeing God move. And my trust deepening. And my heart softening. And my hands opening.

Remember, God loves a cheerful giver. In addition, when we give to the needy, we are lending to the Lord (Proverbs 19:17, “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him [the person giving] for what he has done.”).

Are you ready to give like never before this Holiday season? I pray that God will move in your soul with the spirit of generosity. Merry Christmas to all my WordPress peers. 🙂

Psalm 42:8 “By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.”

“Give me all your troubles before you go to bed. I’m going to be up anyway.” — God.

Do you ever struggle in the quiet of the night? At night, King David put away all the words and hard thinking and just praised God.

When trouble comes knocking on my door,

I’m going to shut my mind and pray

When worries approaches my path,

I’m going to praise God with my songs

When I’m tempted to sin,

I’m going to read my favorite Bible verse out loud

When I’m ready to give up,

I’m going to close my eyes and give it to my God

Let’s just sleep well tonight and sing a song of praise to the Lord. Pick a favorite song of your choice and sing it out loud as you lay down to sleep tonight. If problem still comes knocking on your door, softly play your favorite worship music in the background so that it can sing you to sleep.
