Is This The “One”?

Everyone one of us desires for that special someone to love us and be loved by us. Here are some questions for you to ask yourself whether the person you are seeing is the “one.” :

1. Am I loved?

2. Am I respected?

3. Am I free to be me and do I feel free in this relationship?

4. Do we honor God?

5. Do we have common life goals? Are we both going in the right direction or are we going the opposite direction?

6. Can we problem solve? Are we able to solve conflicts together and not be at each other’s throat and look over the least

little things?

7. Are we friends? Are we able to be friends?

8. Do I care? Do we genuinely care for each other?

In summation, you can make a good decision based upon some of these questions that I’ve listed. If this person is the one, then you’d want to be able to accept the person’s wound. You want to be a part of his or her healing process because you care for that individual.

” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” ~Proverbs 3: 5-6

I hope to be able to consider those responses soon. I want to be in a relationship with someone approved by God (more on my blog about this), and I want it to be real. I don’t think the person I presently like is the one, nor was the one before his, or the one before that. It is really hard to find a man who respects you as a woman, mostly the ones in the world treat you like entertainment – fun for that – to be put up (away/out-of-sight) when dealing with the real life. 😦 It’s not something I can or want to deal with anymore, because if you’re a play toy, as toys go, children want to play with ‘other,’ toys. It just makes it more interesting. So I have asked God to bring me one, and I think he is…. so I am trying to have faith for that and believe he will have provided the ‘right,’ one? But I appreciate this post. One day…

I believe that when our heart is always chasing after God, like King David in the Old Testament, we are complete and happy regardless if we met the ‘one’ or not. Wait on God. Don’t settle for less and don’t compromise your values ever. There are godly men out there, we just have to wait on God for His approval. I encourage you to read Proverbs 31.

Interesting comment. I think you’re right and I will read Proverbs 31. Yeah, done alot of compromising my values. The world pushes hard, but now I am going through this eye opener that is making me so aware of that and instilling this will to push back (not compromise + wait on God). No matter how unpopular.
